Try the Seafood strudel, it was very good. The Onion soup was very good also. The server was very knowledgeable and efficient. The prices were very reasonable, the fish was fresh.

Great service, great food, uncomfortable chairs... We had the grilled snapper and grilled sea scallops, both were excellent. The seafood bisque was great and served in old country settings, which was a really nice touch. The place was filled with locals, which is always a good sign. We were really happy that we accidentally found this place!

I was very conflicted after going to this restaurant. The seafood strudel was very good. I got the small half size appetizer. My spinach and arugula salad consisted of some tired greens and the iced tea I was served had evidently been sitting in the heat in the kitchen as it was soured. The service was friendly and just right but for the money I thought the food overall was average. My friend ordered a Caesar salad with tomatoes and the tomatoes were not fresh. It seems that this kitchen does some things on their menu very well and others not so much. Overall, not a horrible experience, however, I'm not sure I'd go back unless it was just for the strudel.

We were just driving around town looking for somewhere to have dinner the first night of vacation. We got there around 5 and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation, we did not, she gave us a disgusted look and another member in our party asked if needed one she said that sometimes it could get "hairy" and another more friendly lady sat us. As we were walking back to our table we walked by a completely empty dining room, didn't look like a reservation was needed to me. I ordered the coconut shrimp, others ordered the swordfish, fried grouper, and baked grouper. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. But the bill was pretty expensive. As we left only about 2 more groups showed up to eat.

Very good service, somewhat bland menu though it had an interesting German theme to the regular and specials menu. Family style...certainly not fancy. Food was good and filling ...but nothing fancy.

We both had grouper and both dishes were good. I had the pineapple rum coconut grouper and it was very tasty. My wife had the broiled plate and the grouper was tender and moist. Service was very good, food was a little above average but prices were fair. Would go again.

Family atmosphere is good. Had grouper for the first time. Tasted like schrod but was pretty good. Excellent and fun service. My real problem was the mussels appetizer. They tasted like they were made in water that ran down the butt crack of the chef. I don't know what happened because the rest of our meals seemed fine. My advice: it's not your imagination I you think the mussels smell funky... skip tasting them.

We always make a point of going to Kretch's Restaurant on our annual trip to Marco Island and we are never disappointed. The seafood is consistently very good and they have unique items like their seafood stredal and a few other German dishes that are very tasty. On this trip when I looked around the table there was blackened grouper, coconut shrimp, a house special grouper with almost a Hispanic relish taste to it, pan seared tuna, and a couple of kids meals. There wasn't a single complaint. I highly recommend Kretch's and really the only reason I wouldn't give it five stars is that it is fairly expensive. Maybe not for Marco Island, but it is difficult to get out of there for less than $20 a person and basically impossible if you have a drink.

Terrible service and average food. My family (2 adults and 3 children) went on a busy Friday night in season. We had reservations at 7 pm and were seated quickly. From there the evening went downhill. Entrees did not arrive for 90 minutes and the waitress seemed unconcerned about providing any service. As the restaurant emptied out the service did not improve. I would not recommend this restaurant to any family.

Great restaurant and awesome new bar! Particularly the new bartender....great sense of humor!!! Can't wait to return.....the seafood crisp is the best appetizer I've ever had. Don't forget to ask for John.

Good little restaurant. The food is average to slightly above average. Service is great, but the inside could use an updating. They have a new small bar disconnected from the main restaurant that is a fun local hang out. It has different hours then the restaurant portion and stays open late.
